About Our Founder

Ross Harris has more than 25 years of national and international marketing experience on both the client and agency sides of the business. After earning her AB and MBA degrees from Duke University, she began her career at the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, working on well-known brands, such as Kellogg, Pillsbury, Green Giant, McDonald’s, and Philip Morris. She even lived in Taiwan briefly, working on the Philip Morris Asia business.

After rising through the ranks to become VP, she left Leo Burnett for the more familiar surroundings of North Carolina. Back in her home state, she became VP at Burlington Industries, leading the Lees Carpet brand. A move back to the agency side found her in a Senior VP role at Trone, where she worked on several key accounts, including Duke University Health System, Century Furniture, Uniroyal Tires, Tetra (United Pet Group’s Aquatic Division), and Liggett Vector Brands.

In 2007, Ross accepted an offer from the only person for whom she hadn’t already worked—herself. With the creation of The Harris Partners, Ross is able to use her cumulative industry experience to guide her clients toward more innovative, more creative, and more effective marketing efforts.

Ross’s personal experience has been a guiding influence on the causes and organizations that she champions. She is passionate about the fight against cancer and currently serves as Chairperson of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Citizen’s Advisory Council. She is also a member of the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program’s Board of Directors, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro’s Board of Directors, and UNC-G School of Nursing’s Advisory Board.

Ross is active at her alma mater, having served as President of the Duke University Alumni Association and as a member of the Duke University Board of Trustees, as well as the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy’s Board of Visitors. Ross is also passionate about her native city. She currently serves as a member of the Greensboro Day School’s Board of Trustees, the Greensboro Rotary Club’s Board of Directors, Greensboro College’s Board of Visitors, Greensboro Sports Council, and the Tournament Host Committee of Greensboro. She is devoted to her chocolate poodle, McKenzie, who, like Ross, is fan of golf and the Duke Blue Devils.
